Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for a/an Senior Technical Software Developer/Engineer. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities: Provides requirements analysis, designs, develops, tests, and implements software programs. Provides customization of various applications to meet a series of pre-defined requirements. Analyzes, trouble shoots, debugs, and maintains the software packages.
Provides guidance to less experienced software engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience) Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and its application.
Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without discernible direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. May supervise others.
Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the Company. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of resources. Demonstrated scripting/coding skills (desired: Python, Bash, PHP, SQL) Demonstrated troubleshooting/analytical thinking/decision making skills Experience working in a team centered environment and possessing communication, interpersonal, project, problem-solving and time management skills Knowledge of security model/protocols/practices; Experience with Linux system packaging (preferred: RHEL) Demonstrated system monitoring experience (desired: Zabbix, acceptable: Nagios) Knowledge with test-drive development (TDD) and/or Agile sprints Prior experience with Dreamweaver, report writing solutions, and MS Visual Studio Knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, PHP, and ASP.

If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Posted Salary Range: USD $95,000.00 - USD $150,000.00/Yr
