Job Description

Position Purpose: Responsible for overall efficiency, effectiveness, consistency and productivity of Information Technology systems. Supports line of business unit goals and regional/corporate objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

Manages the implementation of standardized software and hardware systems

Coordinates all technical activity for assigned area including telecommunications and network systems requirements

Assists in the implementation of systems, programming tools and systems products

Analyzes and recommends improvements to technology, process, workflow and associated costs

Coordinates communications and training for local IT staff

Develops strategic and operational plans for management

Improves IT capabilities that align with company goals and objectives

Understands, communicates and ensures compliance with company, federal and state policies, procedures and laws

Communicates clearly and effectively with all operating and staff organizations

Responsible for security of local data and systems

Recommends cost effective approach for purchase/lease of computer systems and services to meet company needs

Manages selection and development of staff; interviews, hires and trains; manages performance; accurately interprets personnel policies; maintains and promotes positive employee relations in the work environment

Demonstrates high levels of safety awareness and notifies supervisor of potential hazards

Follows the security and privacy policies, standards and guidelines in order to protect the informational assets of both the company and their customers

Marginal Job Functions:

Performs other duties as business requires

May assist sales with specific customer projects and requirements as requested

Maintains appropriate housekeeping on work area

May work with vendors regarding vendor supplied products

May assist with writing documentation for the processes and procedures

Qualifications for Position

B.S. in computer science, MIS or related field

5-7 years related experience with network and IT systems

Knowledge of multi-platform environments

Strong project management skills

Experience in computer operations and administration desirable

Strong communication skills, verbal and written
