Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an Associate Manager, Software Quality Engineering who will be responsible for the performance and execution of the Quality Engineering Department including managing the Quality Engineering staff. This person is responsible for managing the quality engineering acro ss the Greenville site.

Essential Functions:

• Manage Quality Engineering Team of 10-15 employees including scheduling and planning of all resources, audits, bids, and budgets
• Coach Engineering 8D and Zero-Defect Plan improvement project teams to drive quality performance and a Zero-Defect mentality
• Work with Engineering leadership to identify opportunities for improvement, implement effective and sustainable quality improvement actions, and implement mistake-proof solutions to address internal nonconformances, COPQ, customer escape drivers, etc.
• Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures (ie, Corrective Action Board) and customer requirements
• Responsible for ensuring that the Quality Engineers effectively oversee engineering development activities on their assigned projects and that activities are planned, implemented, and controlled
• Conduct internal audits and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) assessments
• Investigate engineering quality issues in a methodical manner ultimately resulting in containment, identification of root cause/preventative actions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years of related experience
• OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of quality experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
• Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or Operational Excellence background
• Experience managing or leading cross-functional teams
• Extensive knowledge and experience using Quality and Process Improvement tools and principles (DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, ZDP, FMEA, RCCA, APQP, etc.)
• Good understanding of quality or aviation industry standards such as ISO9001:2015, AS9100, or CMMI, etc.
• Experience in analyzing information or data and ability to identify trends
• Capable of influencing a wide range of audience and having demonstrated leadership skills to win support without direct reporting structure
• Six Sigma Green/Black
• Track record of leading projects

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
