Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Chief Architect. The candidate will be responsible for the continued development of an advanced, leading -edge, hybrid architecture with excellent technical guidance and communication skills . The candidate must be able to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of administration, customers, and individual contributors on the program team.

The Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Chief Architect will work as the System Architect in a SAFe methodology. As such, will cultivate the team to meet quality aspects of product creation would be a focus area. Part of the product is the Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline that the program implementation depends upon. This program has a planned hybrid cloud solution, where parts of the system will be migrated to the Cloud and other parts will remain on hardware. Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, and security, in addition to being experienced with designing/architecting solutions for the cloud are highly desired.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $15,000 for a candidate with an Active TS/SCI clearance that can be verified when hired at RIS.

Required Skills:

• Systems Engineering experience
• 5+ years experience as System Architect and Team Lead

Experience with the following:

• - Cloud technologies and migration to the Cloud
• - Containerization and databases
• - Automation ( Build, Deploy, Test)
• - Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
• - Evaluation of COTS/FOSS
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
• Proven written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• CompTIA Security + Certification

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of DoDAF experience
• 2+ years of AWS cloud architecting experience - AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation
• Scaled Agile Framework ( SAFe ) knowledge and experience, as a System Architect/System Engineer or working directly with such roles
• Experience with different Architecture Frameworks, aside from DoDAF
• Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments
• Experience with modeling resources and methodologies (Cameo)

Thorough working knowledge of:

- Reliability Maintainability and Availability Analysis

- Volumetric and Margin Analysis

- System and SW Design Patterns

- Architectural Modeling

- Cloud and On-Prem Hybrid Architectures

- Multiple Engineering Disciplines (Software, Database, Infrastructure, Security, Systems, Test)

IT products, services, and operations

One or more Architecture Certifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
