Food Labeling Associate Analyst

Job Overview:

Regulatory Affairs plays an integral role in bringing new innovative products to the market while ensuring full compliance to local laws & regulations. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs with the primary responsibility of regulatory compliance efforts by collaborating with relevant stakeholders to support new product launches and in-market product maintenance. This position is responsible for providing regulatory content of label copy for all KDP products. The Associate Regulatory Affairs Analyst will act as a compliance partner, providing sound regulatory guidance to project teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Regulatory support for Innovation, Renovation and Productivity projects in the U.S. and Canada, including ingredient review, label content creation and packaging graphics review, specifically:
    • Review product briefs and preliminary packaging graphics for new products and/or packaging from a Regulatory and Nutrition lens.
    • Review and approve formulas and ingredients for compliance with applicable regulations and in context of approved claims.
    • Analyze product formulations to verify compliance.
    • Create final Label Content, including substantiated claims, compliant nutrition facts & ingredient statements as well as all other U.S. and/or Canada mandated label content.
    • Review finished product labels to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide support for Regulatory data maintenance projects in Optiva.
  • Research applicable regulations to confidently substantiate claims requested by business teams.
  • Monitor regulatory environment and identify impact of regulatory changes to KDP products.
  • Proactively identify process gaps and propose solutions for continuous improvement of the Regulatory organization.
  • Build positive relationships and become a liaison with division/department colleagues.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a scientific field (minimum B.S., Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Nutrition,) required.
  • A minimum of 1 to 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs of a Consumer Products Company with working knowledge of U.S. FDA labeling regulations as published in 21 CFR Parts 1-199.
  • Exceptional team player with willingness and propensity for collaboration and relationship building.
  • Ability to anticipate and address issues in a proactive manner.
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Passion for learning and ability to listen and accept critical feedback.
  • Technical Knowledge & Software Applications: (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Optiva).
