We are seeking a highly skilled
Software Engineer to join our team at the Center for Disease Detection (CDD) in San Antonio, TX. The CDD is a cutting-edge research facility focused on developing innovative solutions for the detection and prevention of infectious diseases. With a team of world-class scientists and engineers, the CDD leverages the latest technologies and techniques to identify emerging pathogens and develop effective diagnostic tools to combat them.
The ideal
Software Engineer will have experience in C#/.NET development and be proficient in SQL Server database development. Previous experience working in a lab or healthcare environment is a major plus.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain software applications that support the CDD's disease detection and prevention efforts.
- Design, develop, and test software solutions that adhere to best practices and patterns for software development.
- Work with modern source control systems to manage code changes and maintain version control.
- Understand data models such as HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON, XSLT, and their application to software development.
- Employ Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration methodologies to ensure software quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in software development to contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in C#/.NET development and SQL Server database development.
- Hands-on experience in developing secure web APIs, web applications and/or desktop applications using .net core technologies
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with new web development frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus
- Knowledge of Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration methodologies is a plus.
- US Citizenship is mandatory (DOD requirement).
- Preferred location is San Antonio, TX.
- Ability to travel to the CDD in San Antonio, TX, as required.
