Data Migration Manager

A deeply experienced Data Migration professional with experience working within a team setting to design, deploy, and support technical solutions. You have played the role of a Data Engineer, Database Administrator, Data Analyst, and/or Data Steward. You are an excellent written and verbal communicator, enjoy solving problems, and are looking to play a leadership role in a rapidly growing team.

In the past, you have worked on mid to large scale data projects, and utilized SQL, Python, or visual programming tools like Alteryx to create, read, update, and delete data entities in relational or non-relational database platforms. You have experience converting and migrating data from legacy ERP, CRM, or other OLTP systems to new systems. People around you consider you a subject matter expert or the go-to person when it comes to solving data integration, data migration, or general data engineering challenges.

The team:

You will be working with a national team with a client base that extends across the United States, many of which have a global footprint. Our Data Integration and Migration services (DIMS) team members have served in both consulting and industry roles and specialize in helping organizations deploy repeatable, scalable, and sustainable solutions that save time and resources. Our Data Migration sub-function is focused on ERP, CRM, and other Business Application data migrations from and to one or many different applications.

We have experienced rapid growth and maintain a strong pipeline of interesting and challenging projects. Our team is constantly looking for ways to develop our delivery methods, technical solutions, and grow our client skillsets through certifications and regular training opportunities. We expect that our team members will contribute to these efforts in addition to their client responsibilities.

Work you'll do:

  • Partner closely with RSM Business Application teams on new client opportunities and support pre-sales and sales activities
  • Collaborate with client business, data, technical, project management, and partner teams to build relationships, deliver complex projects, and explore new solutions to their problems/challenges
  • Document the scope, create estimates, and form timelines for external client projects based on a set of assumptions and dependencies gathered through survey, individual interview, virtual or in person workshops, and data profiling and cataloging methods
  • Draft and drive Statements of Work (SOWs), be the key point of contact to client executive sponsors, complete independence and conflict checks with internal compliance teams
  • Manage engagement financials and project plans to ensure on budget and on time delivery
  • Work with data in both 3NF and Star Schemas, define data mappings, reference data, and data lineage of attributes of data entities (Bonus: Experience working w/NoSQL data formats)
  • Develop and demonstrate technical solutions using some of the following technologies and languages (with plenty of opportunity to explore new technical solutions):
  • T-SQL and Python
  • SQL Server Database Engine, Azure SQL Database, or Azure SQL Managed Instance
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Power BI Desktop & Service
  • Tableau Desktop & Server
  • Alteryx Designer & Server
  • Snowflake Data Cloud
  • Github Repositories
  • Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira
    • Triage and resolve bugs/defects, manage Quality Assurance (QA) and test plans
    • Complete certifications in various frameworks, technologies, and methodologies
    • Act as a leader on practice management efforts, participate in future hiring, performance management, and personal development plans for new team members
    • Author digital written, video, and audio content such as how to articles, white papers, release notes, and other content intended to be posted on RSM's website or Industry Journals
    • Travel to client sites as needed

We'd expect you to have:

  • 6 - 8 years in a data focused role
  • 3 - 5 years of leading teams
  • 1 - 3 years of external client service
  • Technical Certifications in your tool stack of choice
  • Non-Technical Certifications in your industry of choice
  • Bachelors or graduate degree with an emphasis in Computer Science or Information Systems

  • Experience leading data migration process during implementation of ERP, CRM, or other business applications such as
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SC
  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC)
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM (aka CE)
  • Oracle NetSuite ERP
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud
