Working under the direct supervision of the Information Systems Business Specialist and in conjunction with Information Technology Staff. The Information Systems Business Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance to local education agencies to facilitate the implementation and use of the ASCENDER Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position's primary focus is troubleshooting issues in payroll, accounting, and business errors that clients have while using the ASCENDER software system. (This is NOT an I.T./PC/OS/Networking troubleshooting position but one focused on accounting questions and software settings within the ASCENDER system.)
High school diploma or GED required
High school/College Accounting class experience highly preferred
Some college hours in a related field are preferred.
Public school district, charter school, or Education Service Center business experience preferred
Database or information systems experience preferred
Training in accounting, business, computer science, and customer service preferred

1. Experience in troubleshooting accounting errors within a general ledger and budget
2. Experience in accounting, business, computer science, and customer service is preferred.
3. Experience understanding account codes and which are the most commonly used ones.
