Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team! This professional position will lead efforts to track, collect, and submit complex documentation required to administer grant-funded projects across operational disciplines and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
As a member of the Planning Department team and reporting to the Strategic Planning Manager, the position performs specialized work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, requiring exceptional ability to develop productive working relationships, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and exercise appropriate independent judgment within established policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Liaison with subject matter experts and project managers across departments and operational disciplines to ensure compliance with documented grant requirements and reporting timelines established by funding agencies Develop and maintain data collection systems and assist staff managing grant-funded projects with providing operational details and budgetary information in the production of timely and comprehensive updates and developing documentation for contract modifications Maintain records of current and archived grant-funded projects and grant applications Manage priorities and ensure consistent effective communication to ensure quality internal and external customer service delivery Utilize Grants Management System (GMS) software to track information and produce complex reports required by local, state, and federal funders Develop and maintain an awareness of PCCA programs, objectives, strategies, and financial needs May be assigned to collaborate on research and development of grant proposals and assist with analysis of fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of PCCA departments as they pertain to the design, formulation and administration of Strategic Planning, Business Planning, measurement, and/or department budgets Perform research and draft reports using high-level analysis and attention to detail, and in alignment with leadership directives and PCCA policies and procedures Demonstrate willingness to work overtime or alternate hours as necessary to meet goals and deadlines Perform other duties as assigned and/or related work as required CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employment Tier 3 status designation CANDIDATE PROFILE The preferred candidate for this position is analytical, methodical, self-motivated, and efficient with professional level written and verbal communication skills and can operate in a dynamic environment requiring exceptional attention to detail. It is critical that the candidate has a strong work ethic, knows how to collaborate across teams, and will improve or alter how work is performed when requested.
They must possess the following: EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment Valid driver's license EXPERIENCE & JOB KNOWLEDGE Knowledge and proven experience working with funding agreements, federal and state grants compliance and contract administration Experience collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds Experience exercising good judgement, diplomacy and tact when completing assignments and dealing with people Strong project management skills Ability to prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines Ability to work independently within a structured environment and to fit well within an energetic and dedicated team Effective communicator with demonstrated interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills TECHNICAL SKILLS Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams) and other related applications Strong analytical skills (financial or accounting experience preferred) Ability to operate standard office equipment and drive a lightweight highway vehicle to meetings and work-related events Ability to understand, interpret and apply PCCA policies, tariffs, SEAPORT values, state/federal laws ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined, climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
