This candidate will be working within the HNTB's Digital Innovations Solutions Group on the Geospatial Integrated Solutions Team. Comprised of geospatial system analysts and application developers, this team works with the most innovative geospatial applications in the transportation industry. The Geospatial Integrated Solutions Team implements and manages enterprise GIS solutions on premise and in the cloud (internal and for clients), develops COTS and custom applications, and performs scripted and automated data analytics.
This is a senior-level position that will be directing and working alongside team members in designing, developing, configuring, testing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise GIS deployments. The right candidate will be able to lead as an independent GIS technical expert, prioritize multiple projects at one time, as well as have related skills in server and cloud environments. Essential Responsibilities: + Develops or customizes complex geospatial applications using comprehensive geospatial knowledge, project requirements and an understanding of client needs.
+ Assists client in determining survey and mapping needs and the most effective collection methods and technologies to meet those needs. Meets with client and technology staff to define and document system requirements. Develops system configuration specifications, conceptual and logical workflow and business process diagrams for system development or customization.
+ Creates and executes moderately complex system implementations according to established timeline, budget and quality expectations. + Leads projects of medium to large scope. Assists in the development of project scope, fees and proposals.
+ Serves as a technical resource in the application of one or more geospatial platform technologies, such as Esri, Bentley, Autodesk, and Certainty 3D. Provides user support and solves moderately complex technical problems with geospatial systems. + Codes, tests, debugs and configures solutions at a moderate difficulty level.
May perform peer reviews on work performed by junior staff. Thoroughly documents and tests all work produced. + Recommends enhancements or changes to technology, methodology and process standards.
Interactively and incrementally improves both products and processes. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Geography or other related degree + 5 years related experience + In lieu of education, 9 years related experience Primary Focus Will Include: + Being the lead technical resource in identifying and organizing system architecture needs and expectations + A willingness to quickly learn new skills, tools, and platforms and to think outside of the box and asses the value of new tools to deliver unique digital solutions for our clients.
+ Utilizes a comprehensive knowledge of server operating systems and cloud computing to work on complex projects involving software, database and system architecture design. + Deploys and maintains enterprise GIS environments, based on the project or client requirements document. Thoroughly tests and documents all work produced.
+ Provides user support and utilizes strong troubleshooting skills to solve complex technical problems with legacy applications or systems. + Technical lead on projects which require skills in multiple system environments, such as Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure. + Able to demonstrate a history of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
+ Ability to listen to the needs and requests of the team, clients, and project groups to enhance or build new applications to address those needs. + Performs other duties as assigned. + What do we mean by this? Preferred Qualifications and Skills: + Experience deploying ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal within AWS and/or Azure.
+ Experience deploying solutions and creating automations using Python or Jupyter Notebooks. + Experience managing AWS and/or Azure cloud consoles + Experience managing GIS server and/or desktop licensing utilities + Experience with GIS-related enterprise solutions (FME Server, VertiGIS, etc) + Experience with enterprise databases deployment and administration + Experience with ADFS integration + Understanding of cross-browser/platform issues, web and cloud security. + Experience with agile development and systems engineering life cycles.

The approximate pay range for New York City and Westchester County, NY is $106,445.94 - $173,429.55. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
