Prestigious Fortune 500 Company is seeking a Senior IS Security Engineer to help drive the efforts to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the enterprise infrastructure and information assets across our company. This role involves identifying, implementing, maintaining, and configuring key enterprise security tools and initiatives while taking some direct responsibility for driving the results.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field
  • >5 years relevant work experience
  • current CEH, CISSP, and/or OCSP certification
  • member of SANS or other leading security organization
  • Scripting experience with Perl, Shell, and/or Java
  • proven knowledge of network protocols, LAN, WAN, SSL, Firewall, Load Balancer, and DMZ configurations
  • solid experience with PCI data security standard and other regulatory concerns (including SOX, FCRA, FISMA, etc.)
  • proven change management skills
  • experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • strong verbal and written facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge and experience to complete all job responsibilities (listed below)

Specific Technical Skills (advanced knowledge):

  • Operating Systems: Linux (Red Hat, SUSE), Windows Desktop (XP, Win7, Win10) and Server (2000, 2003, 2008, 2012) UNIX (HP/UX, AIX, etc.)
  • Information Risk Management: application Firewalls, content filtering technologies, application Firewalls, SAML, LDAP, forensics software, security incident response
  • Networking: Firewall and switching technologies (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint, etc.) OSI Model, VPN, IDS/IPS, WAF, Proxy/Reverse Proxy, Two Factor Authentication, Netflow, RADIUS, Anti-SPAM, vulnerability scanning/reporting (Qualys, Rapid7, Nessus, NMAP, etc.)
  • Languages: Perl, PowerShell, Python, SQL, Java
  • End Point: HIPS, anti-malware, Whitelisting/Blacklisting technologies, client based Firewall, BASH, WMI, GPO


  • proactively implement, monitor and support enterprise security tools
  • be the subject matter expert for key security tools, technologies and processes owned by the security team
  • provide management level reporting of all critical intrusion or vulnerability detection tools
  • perform change control and device configuration management activities on all security technologies
  • actively protect the availability, confidentiality and integrity of customer, employee and business information
  • participate in the risk assessment program including identification and scoring risk
  • invoke the security incident response process including security response team activities as well as providing and implementing tactical risk mitigation to incidents
  • provide vulnerability and threat management monitoring and mitigation response
  • participate in tactical and operational planning of vulnerability assessment activities
  • assist in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques
  • supports the execution of EIS projects and initiatives
  • participate in operations and tactical planning
