The Systems Administrator's role is to participate in the support, maintenance and overall operations of a Windows and Linux-based infrastructure environment to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly, desktop infrastructure and system and production administration. The successful candidate will be joining a highly productive, diverse, entrepreneurial team, itself part of a global organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter with a strong technology background to contribute to the development, growth, and enhancement of the critical IT support side of Axioma's award winning business. The team is global but small with the opportunity to build and enhance a wide range of exciting initiatives and to roll up your sleeves.

Operational Responsibilities:

Work with other IT members to maintain, develop, and evaluate all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, Intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on.
Test systems and storage performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining infrastructure.
Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Perform systems and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Ensure and manage system connectivity of all Servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.


Provide desktop administration and support for a Windows and Linux-based environment and participate in the support and maintenance of a Windows and Linux-based infrastructure
Deploy, maintain, administer and trouble-shoot desktop and server-based technology to increase user productivity, optimize costs, and reduce end-user down time
Knowledge of domain level desktop issues
Strong technical support knowledge of laptop, desktop and printer hardware
Active Directory Administration and Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, etc.
MS OS experience - Windows 10, 8.x and 7
Strong technical knowledge of MS Office 2013 and 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Directory Services Administration - account and group creation, permissions, and policies

Specific Skills Desired, but not required:

Ubuntu 12.04 thru 16.04 Servers (LDAP, Samba, DNS, NFS)
Microsoft Exchange 2013 management console experience; Ability to handle administrative tasks for all messaging related functions
Enterprise anti-virus/malware management systems experience (ie Symantec Endpoint Protection and other IPS/IDS Offerings)
Remote access support with VPN
Incident tracking and reporting experience (ie SysAid or other ticketing systems)

Formal Education & Certification:

Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience.
MCSA or MCSE (preferred)

Knowledge & Experience:

5+ years' experience administering and delivering infrastructure operational support
Knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software
